Teeth Whitening
Our teeth whitening process is done by applying professional-grade teeth whitening gel and then activating it with an LED light.. This process is done in three 20-minute, back-to-back applications. We will achieve 4+ shades lighter in a 1 hour and a half session.
How does teeth whitening work?
Teeth whitening involves a high concentration of peroxide gel applied directly to the teeth to remove superficial stains. The LED light is used to activate the peroxide gel and maximize lighter shades of white. Your first appointment will determine how many applications you need for your desired shade.
Please follow aftercare instructions.
Aftercare
To get your best and longest-lasting results, it is important in the first 24-48 hours to avoid any foods or drinks with color and tobacco. If you drink coffee, use a straw; think white diet.
Keep up your oral hygiene by brushing twice a day and flossing once a day. You may experience tooth sensitivity for a day or two. If this occurs for more than two days, use the remineralizing gel we sent home with you.
Teeth Sensitivity
1 out of 8 adults suffers from tooth sensitivity. The fact of the matter is, our teeth are in a constant state of demineralization (occurs when the acidic by-product of plaque wears away at the enamel of the teeth) and remineralization (salivation, fluoride, and oral hygiene). Tooth demineralization can take seconds, while remineralization takes days. When demineralization is overtaking, remineralization is at risk with sensitivity especially when you eat acidic foods or consume beverages containing refined sugars.
The White Diet
The white diet is a short-term diet that consists of light-colored food and drinks. Avoiding acidic food and beverages will help keep the whitening process! Follow the white diet for 48 hours for best results.
Expectation VS. Reality
We all have an expectation of how something should turn out because of the amount of advertising we are influenced by. With teeth whitening, it's advertised that you are guaranteed X amount of shades whiter. However, everyone's teeth will react differently to the whitening process with that being said, everyone's results will be different!
Please understand that no guarantee of certain shades.
White Spots
Some teeth may appear banded with lighter/whiter areas. After your session, you may notice some white spots. As the whole tooth becomes lighter in shade, these spots will dissipate.
